Can my heater be used horizontally in my aquarium or sump?

It's better to have it vertical, but it can be placed horizontally. We do not recommend putting any aquarium heater in sumps where there is little or no circulation and where there is a chance that the water level may drop due to a pump failure. It is best to put in overflow where there is good water circulation and constant depth.
